The Secret Garden, first published in 1911, tells the story of 10-year-old orphan, Mary Lennox. She was sent to live in Misselthwaite Manor, a mysterious Yorkshire estate owned by her widowed uncle. While living there, she discovers the key to a long-abandoned hidden walled garden. She then begins to take care of the plants in the garden and starts to bring her bedridden cousin, Colin to the secret garden. Spending time in the garden strengthens their bond, helps Mary overcome her grief, restores Colin’s health and mends broken family ties.
